If you like a traditional village setting just a five minute walk from the beach - where you can still watch the local fishermen tend their nets - then you will love this newly modernised cottage.
It is situated in a small group of traditional fisherman's houses on the fringe of Burgau village. Although the cottage adjoins the owners' house, it is totally separate and has its own private terrace. And while the location may be traditional, there's nothing antiquated about the property. The UK owners have renovated and equipped it to the highest standard using every inch of space thoughtfully and with taste - in Burgau this is where traditional meets modern and works.
The entrance to the cottage is from the front 'quintal' (terrace garden) to the main house and this leads into the open plan lounge/kitchen.
The lounge has a leather sofa, TV and CD system. It is light and tastefully decorated. A galley style kitchen is fitted out with colourful, modern units and has a hob, microwave and fridge. The bathroom leads off from the lounge and again is newly fitted out to a modern standard. The bedroom has a double bed.
The quintal is exclusively for the clients' use and has garden furniture and is shaded by small citrous trees and decorated with scented roses. There is ample parking a few yards from the cottage at the end of the row of fishermen's houses.
A short walk takes you into the village where there is a selection of restaurants, cafés, small shops and a supermarket.
This is a lovely location for a couple and is with striking distance of many superb beaches, a number of golf courses and the spectacular surfing beaches and cliffs of the Algarve's Atlantic coast. The historic town of Lagos with its marina, nightlife, shopping (and more beaches!) is just a ten minute drive away.

Prices are per week per property for up to the maximum number of bed spaces. EG. 4 bedroom villa will be priced for up to 8 people, 3 bedroom for 6 etc. Additional children on folding beds or sofa beds and in cots (unless otherwise stated) will be charged a supplement. The property can be let from any day of week as long as fits in with other bookings - please enquire.
Payment is by cheque or bank transfer in sterling or euros.
30 per cent deposit on booking and the balance 10 weeks before arrival. Full terms and conditions on booking or on request.
Security / damages deposit is payable at some properties on arrival or with balance payment.
The property is fully valeted at the end of each occupancy.
We do recommend that you hire a car from us to make the most of the Algarve - it is a wonderful place to explore and there's a lot more to it that just the beach.
But even if you prefer not to get behind the wheel that's not a problem as we can arrange a transfer direct from airport to accommodation and back again in an air-conditioned vehicle.
